Unlike a conventional electric water heater that draws maximum power from the grid regardless of the time of day, PowerStore is intelligent. It monitors your home’s electricity usage in real-time and “claws back” excess solar energy that would otherwise be wasted.

With up to 13kWh of thermal storage capacity, it provides an affordable alternative to traditional battery storage systems. When combined with a Home Energy Management System (HEMS), PowerStore can even predict weather patterns to decide the most efficient time to heat your water, ensuring you always have a steaming hot shower ready when you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it a standalone water heater?

No, PowerStore is designed to work as part of an integrated system with new or existing solar power panels. It is not intended to be used as a standalone electric heater.

How much space does it take up?

The 315L model is 1,640mm high and 640mm wide, while the 250L model is 1,395mm high. Both are designed to fit neatly in standard hot water system locations.

What happens on cloudy days?

PowerStore is smart enough to draw the minimum necessary power from the grid on low-sunlight days to ensure you never run out of hot water.

What is the difference between this and a normal electric tank?

A normal tank turns on and draws full power from the grid whenever it needs heat. PowerStore “senses” when you have free, excess solar power and uses only that power to heat the water gradually.

Repayments are calculated on a 72 month interest free repayment period.

Cost calculations include upfront incentives available under the Federal Government’s Cheaper Home Batteries Program. Please note that the final rebate amount is determined by the date of installation and commissioning. Incentives are scheduled to reduce significantly for any system installed on or after 1 May 2026.

* The estimated weekly repayment may differ due to the Minimum Monthly Repayment construct. The Solahart recommended amount is to identify the possible return on investment calculation of the selected Solahart system.

Paying only the minimum monthly repayment may not repay the purchase in the interest free period. A monthly account fee of $9.95 applies and a one-off establishment fee may apply for new customers. Establishment fee and monthly fees are added to the balance to determine the MMP payable.
